In person

You can submit the application directly to the Ordnungsamt. If the documents are complete, it can be issued immediately.

By post

Alternatively, you can submit the completed application with all documents by post. The Jagdschein will then be sent to you.

The Jagdschein is valid nationwide and, depending on your choice, is issued for 1 year, 3 Jahre or as a day Jagdschein.

Types of Jagdschein in Bremen

In Bremen, the following types of Jagdschein are issued:

• Falconer hunting licence: Special hunting licence for falconry hunting with birds of prey or falcons; requires a falconer’s examination or a restricted hunter’s examination
• Youth falconer hunting licence: Can be issued to young people who have passed the relevant restricted examination; falconry hunting is only permitted when accompanied by a person experienced in hunting
• Replacement issue: In the event of loss or theft of the hunting licence; the term corresponds to the originally approved period of validity

Special features in Bremen

• Hunting dog requirement: Under Art. 3 Abs. 3 of the Bremischen Landesjagdgesetz, at least one serviceable hunting dog must be permanently available. The dog must be taken along for search hunts, drive hunts and battue hunts, as well as for woodcock hunting. A hunting dog must be used for every follow-up search. Breaches constitute an administrative offence and are punishable.
