How to apply
You can apply for a hunting licence in Hamburg online via the digital services of Polizei Hamburg. For the online application you need a Personalausweis with the online ID function activated, i.e. the eID function. The online application via the XJagd portal saves you a trip to the authority and is available 24/7. In addition to applying online, you can also apply for your hunting licence by post, email, via the in-house letterbox, or in person. Before submitting your application, check whether your online ID function is activated so that the digital application works.
Fees and costs
The fees for a hunting licence in Hamburg are between 63 EUR and 125 EUR, depending on the type of licence. For an annual hunting licence, you pay a fee of 125 EUR to the Waffenbehörde in Hamburg. A day hunting licence costs 63 EUR in Hamburg and is therefore the cheapest option among the types of hunting licence. In addition, there is a separate examination fee of 203 EUR, which you pay directly to the Landesjagdverband. As well as the hunting licence fee, also factor the examination fee of 203 EUR into your budget.

In Hamburg you can choose between three types of hunting licence:
- Annual hunting licence – costs 125 EUR and entitles you to hunt for a full year
