Parts of the examination
- Written part (multiple choice, 100 questions, 100 minutes)
- Oral part (10–15 minutes per subject area, 6 subject areas)
- Practical part (weapon handling and rifle shooting)
RECOMMENDED PROVIDERS
Written examination
Multiple-choice method (answer selection procedure) with 100 questions and a working time of 100 minutes.
Passing requirement: Passed if no more than a quarter of the questions were not answered, not answered correctly or not answered in full.
Shooting test
Four shots at the Rehbock target at 100 m: two shots seated with support and two shots standing (shouldered or freehand); one sighting shot is permitted. At least three hits in the 8.–10. ring required.
If the shooting requirement is not met, this discipline can be repeated once within the overall duration of the practical part. In addition, weapon handling with common long and short firearms must be demonstrated.

Registering for the examination
- Registration deadline: Registration must be received in the original by the Zentrale Jäger- und Falknerprüfungsbehörde at the latest four weeks before the date of the written part; registrations received late will be rejected.
