Apply for a no-stopping zone in Düsseldorf

Whether a move, delivery or building site: a temporary no-stopping zone ensures that the space you need is actually free on the date you want. Private individuals can submit the application themselves, without external service providers.

How to submit the application

Responsible is the Amt für Verkehrsmanagement Düsseldorf. You submit the application:

• in writing by post
• direct communication by telephone or email for queries

This information is required

• Name and address
• exact installation location (street and house number)
• local scope of validity (carriageway or hard shoulder)
• desired period with day of the week and time (e.g. Monday, 7:00–17:00)

How long it takes

Allow at least 14 Tage lead time for your application. Urgent applications are not possible and therefore cannot be processed. You will receive the permit about 1 Week before the date by email.

Important

The permit alone is not enough. Fees apply. You must also hire, transport and put up the no-stopping signs in good time.

Arrange the signs in good time from a removals company or a building-site service. Put up the signs at least 3 full days beforehand so that the no-stopping zone is legally valid.

The process step by step

This is how the application for a no-stopping zone works:

1. Compile all the required information (installation location, scope of validity, desired period)
2. Submit the application to the Amt für Verkehrsmanagement about 14 Tage before the date
3. Wait for the permit (delivery about 1 Week before the date by email)
4. Hire signs from removals companies or building-site service firms
5. Put up the signs at least 3 full days beforehand (the day of installation does not count)
6. Use the no-stopping zone on moving day and then take the signs down
