In Munich, you apply for a no-parking zone through the Mobilitätsreferat. The Temporäre Anordnungen department (MOR-GB2.3) centrally processes all applications. Submit the application directly online. Allow 3 to 4 W weeks lead time.

The Munich Mobilitätsreferat is responsible for all temporary no-parking zones. You can submit the application in various ways.

The online application via the Serviceportal is the quickest way. You can find the form at service.muenchen.de. The system automatically confirms receipt.

Required documents
You will need the following documents for your application:
- Completed application form (Antrag HV Umzug/Baustelle)
- Sketch with the exact location
- Date and times of the no-parking zone you want
- Required length in metres
For straightforward applications, a hand-drawn sketch showing position and length is sufficient. In complex cases, a formal traffic sign plan is required. You can obtain the form from the Mobilitätsreferat.
Maximum duration:
- Moves: maximum 3 calendar days
- Filming: maximum 7 calendar days
- Building sites: maximum 365 calendar days
If you need the no-parking zone for moves for longer than 3 calendar days, you must apply by post, fax or email. Online application is then not possible.
Processing time
The processing time at Mobilitätsreferat München is at least 14 Tage. However, allow 3 to 4 W weeks lead time, to be on the safe side.
Important deadlines:
- Submit the application: 3 to 4 W weeks before the desired date
- Put up signs: 4 Tage before the ban starts, and no later than 23:59
The processing time is shorter if you already have a permit and only want to extend or postpone the period. During the main moving season from April to September, processing may take longer.
