Written examination
A questionnaire with 20 questions is prepared for each examination subject. The examination subjects are identical to those in the oral and practical examination.
Requirement to pass: No explicit minimum scores for the written examination are published in the sources researched; the examination board assesses performance in accordance with the requirements of the LJagdG-DVO.
Shooting test
Rifle shooting: 5 shots at a roe buck target at 100 m (standing, supported), minimum performance 25 points. Shotgun shooting: 10 moving targets (clay pigeons or running boar targets), minimum performance 3 hits (clay pigeons) or 5 hits (running boar targets). Handgun shooting: 5 shots at a scoring target (47 × 78 cm) at 25 m (standing, freehand), minimum performance 2 target hits.
If the minimum performance is not achieved in one discipline, the relevant part of the examination may be repeated once.
Registering for the examination
- Registration deadline: The state itself does not specify an explicit, state-wide registration deadline; districts set their own deadlines in their announcements. If you withdraw no later than two weeks before the start of the examination, the examination fee will be refunded.
- Register with: The Jägerprüfung is conducted by an examination board appointed by the relevant untere Jagdbehörde. Examination candidates must be registered by hunting schools registered and recognised with the LJV; direct registration is not possible.
- Examination fee: 250 EUR
