Renew a Jagdschein in Saxony-Anhalt

Updated:

Responsibility

Untere Jagdbehörde (district or independent city)

Renew step by step

  1. Compile documents: Compile all required documents: previous Jagdschein, current proof of insurance for the renewal period, if applicable a photograph (if a new Jagdschein booklet is issued) and, if applicable, proof of participation in a practice shoot.
  2. Submit application: Submit the renewal application to the untere Jagdbehörde of your district of residence, in person, by post or (in some districts) online. Passport photos and the previous Jagdschein may need to be submitted by post.
  3. Wait for the reliability check: The authority checks your reliability; this process can take 8 to 10 W weeks. Therefore apply for renewal in good time before your current Jagdschein expires.
  4. Receive the renewed Jagdschein: After a successful check, the Jagdschein is renewed (entry in the existing booklet or issue of a new Jagdschein booklet) and handed to you or sent to you.

  • Application for a Jagdschein
  • Previous Jagdschein (to be submitted by post if renewal in the existing booklet)

  • Declaration of consent from the person with parental responsibility (minors only)

Processing time

In the event of loss or theft

  1. Report the loss: If it is stolen, file a police theft report, or prepare an informal loss report showing that the Jagdschein is no longer available.
  2. Apply for reissue: Contact the competent untere Jagdbehörde of your district of residence and submit the loss report, your ID card and a current photograph.
  3. Receive a replacement Jagdschein: After checking the documents, the authority issues a replacement Jagdschein. Ask your competent authority about any fees and processing times.
