Feed-in tariff 2026 under the EEG

Updated:

Short answer

The Einspeisevergütung (feed-in tariff) depends on the commissioning date of your solar system. It also depends on capacity and on partial or full feed-in. For installations up to 100 kilowatts the Bundesnetzagentur publishes the rates.

Payment runs for 20 years and ends on 31 December of the twentieth year.

Which rates apply now

The current table applies to commissioning from 1 August 2026 to 31 January 2027. It applies to installations on buildings or on noise barriers. Up to 10 kilowatts the partial feed-in rate is 7,70 cents per kilowatt-hour.

  • Full feed-in in this class is 12,22 cents per kilowatt-hour. Up to 40 kilowatts the partial feed-in rate is 6,66 cents per kilowatt-hour. Full feed-in in this class is 10,24 cents per kilowatt-hour.
  • Up to 100 kilowatts the partial feed-in rate is 5,44 cents per kilowatt-hour. Full feed-in in this class is 10,24 cents per kilowatt-hour. For other installations up to 100 kilowatts the rate is 6,19 cents per kilowatt-hour.

That rate is the same for partial and full feed-in on other installations.

Partial and full feed-in

Partial feed-in means the electricity you export after self-consumption. Full feed-in means all generated electricity goes into the public grid. For full feed-in, building installations receive the higher published rates.

Anyone who uses the feed-in tariff makes unused electricity available to the grid operator.

How long the claim lasts

Under the EEG the feed-in tariff is payable for 20 years. Where the value is set by law, payment runs until 31 December of the twentieth year. Under the EEG the period starts at the time of commissioning.

What the table still omits

An increase of 1,5 cents per kilowatt-hour from 40 kilowatts is not yet in force. The Bundesnetzagentur is waiting for state-aid approval from the European Commission.

What you do

  1. First check the exact commissioning date of your solar system with the grid operator. Read the matching row in the Bundesnetzagentur table. You settle the feed-in payment claim with the responsible grid operator.
