iSFP with an energy advisor: costs and grant

Updated:

Short answer

An individual renovation roadmap shows the sensible order of works. BAFA funds this energy advice at 50 percent of the eligible fee. For a one- or two-family house the grant is at most 650 euros. From three dwellings the grant is at most 850 euros.

What the iSFP contains

The advice starts with an on-site survey of the building. The energy advisor then writes the iSFP and explains it to you. The plan shows steps over several years or the path to an efficiency house.

Who can get the grant

Owners, homeowners associations, usufructuaries, tenants and leaseholders may apply. Tenants and leaseholders need written permission from the owner. The building must be in Germany and at least ten years old.

Application and payment

You file the application in the BAFA portal before you sign the contract. The advisor must be listed for residential buildings in the energy-efficiency experts list. You pay the full fee first, and BAFA then pays the grant to you after the proof of use.

A homeowners association can receive an extra 250 euros once. For that, the advisor explains the iSFP at the owners meeting. The same advice on the same building is fundable again after four years at the earliest.

The advisor sets the fee, and the grant covers half of it up to the cap. You will find an overview on the energy advisor topic page.
