Apply for a hunting licence in Berlin
The Jagdschein is the permit to practise hunting in Germany. In Berlin, the Jagdschein is issued by the weapons authority of Polizei Berlin. A prerequisite is passing the Jägerprüfung, also known as the "Grünes Abitur".

Hunter’s examination in Berlin
The examination consists of three parts:
- Written examination - wildlife biology, hunting law, weapons law
- Shooting test - rifle and shotgun
- Oral-practical examination - in the hunting ground

Apply
You apply for the Jagdschein at the Waffenbehörde der Polizei Berlin (LKA 514). You can submit the application online or using a PDF form. A prerequisite is having passed the hunter’s examination.
Costs
The annual Jagdschein for one year costs 50 EUR fee plus 25,50 EUR Jagdabgabe. For three years you pay 125 EUR plus 76,50 EUR Jagdabgabe.
Examination
The hunter’s examination in Berlin consists of three parts, written, oral-practical and shooting test. The examination fee is approx. 250 EUR.
Renew
You apply for renewal of the Jagdschein at the Waffenbehörde (LKA 514). Submit the application in good time before it expires; the fees are the same as for a new issue.
