Since 2024, the registration process has become much simpler – a single registration in the Marktstammdatenregister (Market Master Data Register) is all you need. Here is how it works, step by step.

Do I Need to Inform My Landlord?

Since the Solarpaket I (Solar Package I, 2024), a balcony power plant is classified as a privileged structural modification. This means:

The landlord cannot refuse the installation without justification
You must inform the landlord beforehand (notification obligation)
A written request is recommended (email is sufficient)
The landlord can only refuse for objective reasons (e.g., structural integrity, listed building protection)

Meter Replacement: What Applies in 2026?
