About AmtsGuide

Government as a data product. Source-backed, structured, computable.

Why AmtsGuide Exists

Government in Germany works. Every day, in thousands of offices, for millions of people. The problem is not competence in the authorities. The problem is that knowledge often does not exist as a usable product.

It is stuck in PDFs, in leaflets, in established procedures. Every city has its own rules, deadlines and responsibilities. Every federal state regulates differently when it comes to exams, licenses and subsidies.

AmtsGuide changes that. We translate government processes into structured data and useful tools: What do I need? What does it cost? Where do I go? How long does it take? For every city. For every district. For every federal state. With source, freshness and jurisdiction scope.

AI-Powered. Source-Backed.

We are upfront about this: AmtsGuide uses AI extensively. AI scans government websites, extracts facts, identifies structures and creates drafts. Without AI, it would not be possible to process government knowledge for hundreds of cities and municipalities.

But AI alone is not enough. Our promise is verifiable data: source, freshness, responsible authority, local scope and visible drift when an official source changes. Published claims should remain traceable even when government pages move or change.

This is not marketing. This is our business model. AI can collect, structure and process data. But deciding which source applies, which district differs and which calculator may compute a deadline requires rules, review and repeatable checks.

We therefore build AmtsGuide as a data and tool layer. The website is one output format. Calculators, APIs and source-backed facts are the real work surface.

Founder

Andreas Dahrendorf founded AmtsGuide in 2025 to build government knowledge in Germany as a structured data product.

His background is in digital strategy and political communication. At AmtsGuide, he combines AI-powered data processing with source review, drift detection and clear product surfaces.

Values

  • Accuracy. Every detail has a source. Every source is linked. If we do not know something, we say so.
  • Clarity. Simple language, short sentences, clear steps. Government does not have to sound complicated.
  • Local depth. Not "Germany in general" but Berlin-Mitte, Hamburg-Altona, Bavaria, Lower Saxony.
  • Transparency. Visible freshness, sources, correction paths and no hidden interests.
