Why AmtsGuide exists
Government in Germany works. That is true every day in thousands of offices for millions of people. The problem is not competence in the authorities. The problem is that the knowledge often does not exist as a usable product.
The knowledge sits in PDFs, leaflets and established procedures. Every city has its own rules, deadlines and responsibilities. Every federal state regulates exams, licences and subsidies differently.
AmtsGuide turns government processes into structured data and useful tools. You see what you need, what it costs, where to go and how long it takes. That covers city, district and federal state. Every fact has a source, a date and a scope.
AI and sources
AmtsGuide uses AI heavily. The AI scans government websites, pulls facts, finds structures and drafts texts. That is how government knowledge is prepared for hundreds of cities and municipalities.
AI alone is not enough. Our promise is checkable facts: source, date, responsible body and local scope. When a source changes, the need for an update stays visible. Published facts stay traceable even when government pages move.
This is our business model, not only marketing. AI collects data, structures it and prepares it. Which source applies, which district differs and which calculator may compute a deadline needs clear rules. That includes review and repeatable checks.
We build AmtsGuide as a data layer and as a tool. The website is one output. Calculators, interfaces and source-backed facts are the real work.
Founder
Andreas Dahrendorf founded AmtsGuide in 2025. The goal is government knowledge in Germany as a structured data product.
His background is digital strategy and political communication. At AmtsGuide he combines AI data processing with source checks. That includes a clear product surface.
Values
Accuracy: Every fact has a source. Every source is linked. If we do not know something, we say so.
Clarity: We write in simple language with short sentences and clear steps. Government does not have to sound complicated.
Local depth: We do not write only for Germany in general. We name places such as Berlin-Mitte, Hamburg-Altona, Bavaria and Lower Saxony.
Transparency: Dates, sources and correction paths are visible. There are no hidden interests.
