For your application you need the following documents:
- Completed application form (Application form for moving/construction)
- Sketch with exact location details
- Date and times of the desired no-stopping zone
- Required length in metres
For simple applications, a hand-drawn sketch with position and length is sufficient. For complex cases, a formal traffic sign plan is required. You can obtain the form from the Mobilitätsreferat.
Maximum duration:
- Moves: maximum 3 calendar days
- Film work: maximum 7 calendar days
- Construction sites: maximum 365 calendar days
If you need the no-stopping zone for moves longer than 3 calendar days, you must apply by post, fax, or email. The online application is not available in that case.
Processing time
Processing time at the Mobilitätsreferat München is at least 14 days. However, plan 3 to 4 weeks of lead time to be safe.
Important deadlines:
- Submit application: 3 to 4 weeks before the desired date
- Install signs: 4 days before the start of the zone, by 23:59 at the latest
Processing time is shorter if you already have an existing permit and only want to extend or reschedule. During the peak moving season from April to September, processing may take longer.
Note: The Mobilitätsreferat only issues the traffic regulation order. You must organise the traffic signs separately from a sign rental company. More about sign installation in the signs guide.
