Responsible Authority

The Strassenverkehrsamt (road traffic office) Frankfurt am Main is the responsible authority for no-stopping zone permits. The office issues permits for temporary no-stopping zones. Costs and Fees

A no-stopping zone for one week costs EUR 45.00 in official fees. If you need to reschedule, an additional 50% surcharge applies, adding EUR 22.50 to the total. Installing Signs

The no-stopping zone signs must be in place at least 72 hours before the zone takes effect. That means 3 full calendar days before your move. You must keep an evidence list documenting all licence plates of vehicles parked in the zone. Without timely sign installation, towing of vehicles is not permitted. After the move, remove the signs promptly or arrange for the service provider to collect them.

Professional services often hold annual permits (Jahresgenehmigungen), allowing them to set up zones on very short notice. There is no online application available in Frankfurt.
