Wiesbaden and ESWE cooperated as part of the heating planning process. The Magistrat adopted the completed plan on 23 June 2026 and submitted it to the state in time before the federal deadline.

Local features

Wiesbaden has a district heating network that is to be expanded. However, many districts require decentralised solutions such as heat pumps. ESWE is investing in climate-neutral heat generation. Minimum distances for geothermal probes have no longer applied in Hessen since 29 November 2022.
