No-Stopping Zone Leipzig

Responsible Authority

The Strassenverkehrsbehoerde (road traffic authority) is responsible for no-stopping zone permits in Leipzig. It issues the traffic regulation order (verkehrsrechtliche Anordnung) for temporary no-stopping zones. The Verkehrs- und Tiefbauamt (traffic and civil engineering office) processes your applications.

Costs and Fees

The permit fee is EUR 30.00 to 40.00. Additionally, you pay EUR 5.00 to 10.00 per day and EUR 1.00 to 2.00 per metre. The fees depend on the scope of the zone.

On top of the permit fee, sign rental costs apply. Sign rental costs EUR 20.00 to 35.00. A full-service package costs EUR 100.00 to 180.00. The package includes the application, signs, and installation.

Processing Time and Deadlines

Submit your application at least 14 days before your moving date. Plan your application well in advance. There is no express processing available in Leipzig. Begin the process early to avoid delays.

Installing Signs

The no-stopping zone signs must be in place at least 3 full days before the zone begins. Install the signs in good time and document the installation with photos and timestamps. This documentation serves as evidence if vehicles need to be towed.

Submitting the Application

In Leipzig, you can submit your application by email, fax, post, or online. Email applications are often processed faster. Online applications can be submitted via the Saxon service portal (saechsisches Serviceportal).

Required Documents

You will need the name and address of the applicant, the reason for the no-stopping zone, a precise description of the location, the area to be covered, and the duration of the zone.

Additionally, further documents are required. Include a site plan or sketch and a traffic sign plan (Verkehrszeichenplan).

Legal Basis

The legal basis is Section 45, Paragraph 6 of the Road Traffic Regulations (StVO, Strassenverkehrsordnung). You will receive a traffic regulation order for a temporary no-stopping zone. Binding information is only available from the responsible authority.

Apply Yourself or Hire a Service Provider

You can submit the application yourself. Self-application costs only the official fees plus sign rental. Private service providers handle the application, signs, and installation for you. Self-application is cheaper but requires more effort. A service provider takes care of the entire process for approximately EUR 100 to 180.
