Registration Deadlines
The Hunter39;s Examination takes place twice a year:

Important: Registration must be submitted in writing. Late registrations will not be accepted.
Examination Parts
The Hunter39;s Examination consists of three parts, all of which must be passed:
1. Written Examination
- Duration: approx. 3 hours
- Format: Multiple-choice and open-ended questions
- Subjects: , Wildlife biology and wildlife diseases , Hunting operations and wildlife damage prevention , Firearms law and firearms knowledge , Hunting law , Nature conservation and landscape management
2. Shooting Test
- Rifle: 5 shots at a running boar target (100m)
- Shotgun: Clay pigeon shooting (15 clay pigeons)
- Handgun: Optional, depending on the examination regulations
Pass threshold: At least 50% hits in each discipline
3. Oral-Practical Examination
- Duration: approx. 30-45 minutes per candidate
- Location: In the hunting district (practical demonstration)
- Content: , Identifying game species , Firearms handling , Hunting dog management , Field dressing and game handling , District knowledge
Special Feature in Berlin: No Mandatory Training
Unlike most federal states, no hunting training is legally required in Berlin. You can prepare through self-study and register directly for the examination.

Recommendation
