Submitting an application

For a furniture move, you need a traffic-law order to set up a temporary no-parking zone.

The signed application can be submitted by post, email or fax.

Official information and forms

Details in the application

The application should include the following details in particular:

  • Name and address of the applicant
  • On-site contact person
  • Private address, telephone number and email address of the contact person
  • Reason for the no-parking zone
  • exact address of the moving location
  • area or length of the zone required
  • start and end of the closure
  • overview plan or sketch
  • traffic sign plan, if applicable

Plan or sketch

The application should show:

  • exact location of the no-parking zone
  • affected side of the road
  • start and end of the zone
  • required length or area
  • adjacent roads or special local circumstances, if applicable

For straightforward moves, a clear sketch may be sufficient. In more complex cases, a traffic sign plan may be required.

Deadlines

  • The signed application must be received by the latest 14 administrative working days before the requested date by the road traffic authority.
  • The processing time is around 14 administrative working days.
  • The no-parking signs must be put up no later than four days before the planned date.

Plan to submit the application as early as possible if follow-up questions or missing documents are possible.

Signage

The no-parking zone may only be set up using the prescribed traffic signs. Chairs, boxes, buckets or other objects do not replace valid signage.

The signs must:

  • be put up in accordance with the traffic-law order;
  • be in place no later than four days before the date;
  • be removed after the approved period has expired.

Documentation of the signs put up

At the time they are put up, the vehicles already parked in the no-parking zone must be recorded.

Use the official Documentation of a mobile no-parking zone.

The fully completed documentation must be available at the start of the period in which the signage is valid. After it has been put up, it must be forwarded to the responsible office without delay.

Fees

A administrative fee of at least 32,00 € is charged for the traffic order.

The specific amount depends on the scope of the measure.

Additional costs for hiring the signs, putting them up and collecting them by private service providers are billed separately.

If the zone is still occupied

Vehicles must not be removed, blocked, or damaged yourself.

Have the following documents ready:

  • traffic order
  • documentation of the signs that have been put up
  • photos of the signage

Then contact the responsible traffic enforcement unit or the responsible office of the City of Leipzig.
