What is different in Bavaria
In Bavaria, the nationwide rules for energy advisers and funding apply. The state supplements federal funding through BayernLabo and LfA Förderbank Bayern.
Bavaria has its own information services such as the Energie-Atlas-Bayern portal. The Free State also funds advice for businesses and municipalities through its own programmes.

BayernLabo and LfA Förderbank Bayern
BayernLabo is the Free State's housing promotion bank. It has no independent legal status and is integrated into Bayerische Landesbank (BayernLB) as a funding institution. LfA Förderbank Bayern primarily supports businesses and municipalities. It is an independent institution under public law, for which the Free State of Bavaria bears sole liability. It is not part of BayernLB.

LfA provides subsidised loans for businesses and municipalities. For private individuals, BayernLabo programmes supplement KfW funding for owner-occupied homes.

The current grant programmes for private residential buildings in Bavaria are the BAFA federal programmes (EBW, BEG). LfA mainly supports businesses and municipalities.
What does Energie-Atlas Bayern offer?
Free information on renovation, renewable energy and municipalities. For funding applications, a BAFA-listed adviser remains mandatory.
Who enforces the GEG locally?
The Landratsämter and independent cities are the responsible lower building supervisory authorities. They carry out spot checks on energy performance certificates and heating systems.
