What is different in Saarland
In Saarland, the nationwide rules for energy advisers and funding apply. Saarländische Investitionskreditbank (SIKB) supplements federal funding with its own loans.
Saarland currently offers no state grants of its own for solar installations, storage systems or heat pumps for private individuals. Private renovators use the federal programmes (BAFA, KfW) and can additionally access SIKB subsidised loans.

See also: Federal programmes. Saarland currently has no grant programme of its own for private solar, storage or heat-pump projects. SIKB loans supplement federal funding but do not replace a grant.
For private one- and two-family homes, BAFA and KfW (BEG) are the main route in Saarland. There is currently no independent state grant programme for solar, storage or heat-pump projects.
SIKB also offers the BEG-Ergänzungskredit. The interest rate is fixed at 1,0 per cent for the entire term. SIKB covers up to 80 per cent of eligible costs, up to a maximum of 75.000 EUR. The best conditions apply to buildings in an urban renewal area. Outside these areas, SIKB assesses conditions on a case-by-case basis.
