Niedersachsen state funding
See also: Federal programmes. NBank supplements KfW funding. Submit the federal application first, then check state loans.
NBank provides grants under the "Klimaschutz und Energieeffizienz" guideline, co-financed from state funds and the European Regional Development Fund, ERDF. This is aimed at businesses, municipalities, municipal institutions, non-profit organisations and cultural institutions, not private residential property owners. Private renovators use BAFA and KfW. State loans for housing are provided through separate NBank programmes, such as Eigentumsförderung für selbstgenutztes Wohneigentum. Terms and programme names change regularly.

Frequently asked questions (Niedersachsen)
What does KEAN offer?
Impartial information, events, studies and an adviser network. For BAFA applications, you need a listed adviser.
Can I combine an NBank grant and KfW funding?
The "Klimaschutz und Energieeffizienz" guideline is aimed at businesses, municipalities and non-profit institutions, not private owners. For private one- and two-family houses, BAFA and KfW are the main route.
Who enforces the GEG in Niedersachsen?
The Landkreise and independent cities, as lower building supervisory authorities. The nationwide GEG fine framework also applies here: up to 50.000 EUR.
Are there regional differences between advisers?
Yes. More advisers are listed in urban areas and hourly rates are higher. Choice is more limited in rural regions.
