The interest rate is set daily by IB-LSA and is below the KfW interest rate. The fixed-interest period is 10 Jahre and the term is 10, 20 or 30 Jahre.
Wood-pellet heating systems, including pellet stoves with a water jacket, are explicitly eligible for funding. Since 01.01.2025, standalone fossil-fuel boilers have been excluded from funding; this does not affect pellet stoves. The loan can be combined with other funding, including KfW. Apply through IB-LSA.
Tax relief § 35c EStG
Alternative to KfW funding: deduct 20 % of costs, up to 40.000 EUR per property, only for water-bearing systems.
Legal obligations
Bauordnung Sachsen-Anhalt (BauO LSA)
Connecting a wood-burning stove to an existing suitable chimney is exempt from procedure under § 60 BauO LSA. § 61 BauO LSA separately regulates exemption from approval for other construction projects.
The construction of a new chimney is generally also exempt from procedure if the technical requirements are met. Clarify larger projects in advance with the building regulations office of the district or independent city.
