Solar installation – Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

Legal basis

  • EEG 2023 – feed-in tariff and funding (federal level)
  • Solarspitzengesetz – smart meter and control box required for new systems from 7 kWp (since 25.02.2025); without a control box, the grid operator permanently limits feed-in to 60 % of installed capacity
  • No state-specific solar requirement

Solar requirement in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

No solar requirement at state level (as at 07/2026), neither for private residential buildings nor for commercial or state-owned buildings. Installation remains entirely voluntary. The state government has 2022 expressed its general support for a future solar requirement; a climate protection law is to regulate the details – specific key points or a timetable have not yet been published.
