Overview

Balcony solar systems are small photovoltaic systems for plug sockets. They are also called plug-in solar devices or mini PV systems. The City of Neuburg an der Donau funds them through its Klima- und Ressourcenschutz programme.

Funding in Neuburg an der Donau

Eligible applicants are private individuals with their main residence in Neuburg, as well as associations and foundations based in Neuburg. The building must be in the city area, and the system must consist of at least two modules, an inverter, cabling and a plug. Submit the application within nine months of the invoice date.

State and federal funding

Bavaria has no separate state programme for balcony solar systems. Since January 2023, the zero VAT rate has applied nationwide to private photovoltaic systems. Tenants' rights

Under § 554 BGB, tenants are entitled to install a plug-in solar device. Landlords may not impose a blanket ban on installation. They may set reasonable conditions, for example regarding the type of mounting. However, only the system owner receives municipal funding.

Registration with the grid operator

The grid operator in Neuburg an der Donau is Bayernwerk Netz GmbH. Since Solarpaket I, separate registration with the grid operator is no longer required. The grid operator receives the information automatically through the Marktstammdatenregister.
