Balcony solar systems in Nürtingen: funding and application

Overview

Balcony solar systems are small photovoltaic installations for plug sockets. They are also called plug-in solar devices or mini PV systems. The City of Nürtingen funds them through its Steckersolar-Förderprogramm.

Funding in Nürtingen

Tenants and owners of an apartment in a condominium association in Nürtingen are eligible to apply. Building owners are currently not eligible due to limited funding. The installation must be located within Nürtingen's municipal area.

State and federal funding

Baden-Württemberg has no separate state programme for balcony solar systems. Since January 2023, the zero VAT rate for private photovoltaic systems has applied nationwide. Tenants' rights

Under § 554 BGB, tenants have a right to install a plug-in solar device. Landlords may not impose a blanket ban on installation. They may set reasonable conditions, for example regarding the type of mounting. Tenants can apply directly for Nürtingen funding.

Registration with the grid operator

The grid operator in Nürtingen is Stadtwerke Nürtingen GmbH. Since Solarpaket I, separate registration with the grid operator is no longer required. The grid operator receives the information automatically through the Marktstammdatenregister.
