State and federal funding
Baden-Württemberg does not have its own state programme for balcony power plants. Since January 2023, the zero VAT rate has applied nationwide to private photovoltaic systems. The technical rules and registration requirement in the Marktstammdatenregister apply uniformly across Germany. Details can be found in the basic document Balcony power plants in Germany.
Tenants' rights
Under § 554 BGB, tenants are entitled to install a plug-in solar device. Landlords may not impose a blanket ban on installation. They may set reasonable conditions, for example regarding the type of mounting. To receive municipal funding, tenants also need the owner's written consent.
Registration with the grid operator
The grid operator in Walldorf is Stadtwerke Walldorf GmbH & Co. KG. Since Solarpaket I, separate registration with the grid operator is no longer required. The grid operator receives the information automatically via the Marktstammdatenregister.
